Why life is better with less money

In my childhood, I used to think that all the problems in this world are because of two things - Money and Borders.

Today, I believe that more strongly. Today I believe money is important, but money is not the only things that is important. We earn money, yearn to earn more money. We want to secure the our future, our children's future and their children's future. We lived life at a luxury, now we want to live better than that and give our children a life that exceeds ours. Every single day, we compete with our neighbors, friends and colleagues to be better and richer than them. By the time we have earned enough money to live our life, we are too old to live or love.

The more we have, the more we spend, hence the more we need. When I started earning, my first salary was Rs. 750. Coupled with my pocket money for Rs. 500 per month, I used to have Rs. 1,250 per month (Not too long ago). I was still able to manage all my expenses and stay very happy within that. Now, when I get a handsome salary every month, I have too many expenses to manage. Most of those are things that I can live without. But my mind says, "Why should I? Don't I earn enough to spend this amount for myself?". I remember reading a fabulous saying somewhere:

"When you get used to luxury, it becomes a necessity"

Exactly at that point of time, when my mind says that, my luxuries become my necessities. Then there is no stopping.

Instead, if we can start young, If we can spend more time with family than money, if we can live with minimal necessities, if we can spend time on our hobbies, doing things that mean the most to us, spending time with people who mean the world to us... We would be living every single day!! Wouldn't life be worth it then?? One life....why waste it. What do you think?

Signing Off for now,

Cashew Delight

I have recently started cooking & I usually cook for my dear hubby. One of the first sweets that I made was this one. It was damn yummy. Moreover, it was damn simple. I saw it in one of the websites online, but now I forgot which one.

The ingredients required are:

2 cups of cashew (powdered in a mixer)
1 cup sugar (powdered)
1 & 1/4th cups of Milk powder
Almonds / Raisins for garnish

- Take a microwave-able bowl and add all the ingredients. Mix them with a spoon or a spatula.
- Put it in the microwave at Medium for a minute.
- After a minute, take the bowl out and mix once (If this step is missed, the items may burn)
- Check the taste & add sugar, if required.
- Put the bowl back in the microwave for another minute.
- Take the bowl out of the microwave. Once the sweet has cooled down a little (touchable- state), you can make it into small balls and garnish it with Almonds or Raisins.

Now I make it when guests are coming home & I hardly have time for making a sweet. It tastes as good as "Kaju Katli" and so, becomes an instant hit. If you do make this, please let me know how it turned out.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.  ~ Confucius
